Mandy
" I was sent for"

This is my Mandy. She has been our families companion , friend, playmate, comforter and guardian angel for the past 12 1/2 years.

She has brought so much love  that it is hard to put into words, the lovely soul that is MANDY.

We were so lucky to find her sitting in a cage at the shelter. When ours eyes met I heard  " I Was Sent For!".

What you need to understand is that we had loss our two other dogs Quin and Buddy, over the two years before to old age and illness. We had our dog Zibby and really had no intentions of getting another dog.

One day, while doing errands for work, not know there was a shelter near by, something told me to turn down this certain road and there it was.

I went inside, thinking maybe I'll find a dog for my mother who was living alone.

First room I went in there was this small black and tan aussie. The staff told me, she was said to be anti-social and that they hadn't seen her take to anyone. She was left in a box at their door in a rain storm.

I told them I wish to see her.  As soon as our eyes met, I knew this was not a chance meeting . I heard " I was Sent for!"

I knew we didn't really need another dog, so as much as the staff was amazed that she was cling to me, I left her there.  For the next week I kept hearing" I was sent for."

I finally told Bob that we had to go back. She was still there and the staff said she had not been seen by anyone and that she had been very withdrawn.

I walked in and she jump right up and looked very happy . Then I heard ....Your back ,They sent me, Then I understood......

Buddy and Quin who were my heart .. after their passing. They had send her to be with us. You see Buddy had shown up in a heavy rain storm years ago and Quin had been our first four legged child. Each had a huge impact on our lives and their passing left a large void. Somehow they had directed us to find HER.

Driving home we wondered what to call her  and as I looked at her again our eyes met and I heard I'M Mandy and so it was. Our Mandy had found us and We were the more blessed for it.

For the past year she has fought off Cushing, Kidney and Liver Failure . The doctors have been amazed by her courage and fight.

She has shown courage that few people have. Greeting everyday with the effort to try because she loved us and we loved her. This week she finally grew to tired to try anymore and so we had to let her go back to those that sent her to us, having done an amazing job of lovely and teaching faith and hope to everyone that met her.

Everyone whoever looked at Mandy, even when her coat was falling out, would remark "What a beautiful dog." I came to realize it wasn't the outer dog they were seeing, but the kind soul shining in her eyes.

She was found in a box in the rain, left and discarded . We found her or she found us and the sun shone and when we said goodbye

again the rains came as if tears from heaven. How blessed we have been to have her in our lives.

And for those of you who do know what it is to hear your pets thoughts... just take the time to be quiet.  They are speaking to us all the time.. You just need to listen with your heart.
