Her background started with a BFA degree in Theatre design from Webster College, where she graduated with honors. After 29 year of working in the entertainment and advertising field for many large corporations and parks, she wanted to get back to one of her real loves, painting and animals.
This idea really started when Ellen was working on a new water park in Chicago "Hurricane Harbor" for Six Flags. She was in charge of the props for the park. One of the elements requested by Six Flags Corporate Design were very colorful benches. They wanted them to look as if they came from the islands. Ellen adorned the benches with fish, flowers and tropical birds. The benches got rave reviews from the parks guest. Thus, came about the idea to start this business.
Ellen is now living in St.Louis, Mo. with her husband,Bob Lyner who is a photographer/digital preservationist. He started his own company Digital Preservation 10 years ago.
Together they are raising their two of three daughters, Lauren and Lindsy, who are both artist in their own right, on a lovely piece of horse property. Her oldest daughter Alexis is married .
The family are the proud owners and share their lives with 2 dogs , 3cats, 2 horse, 2 birds, and several other wild animals that come and go. So as you can see she is constantly surrounded with inspiration.
